The GPhC is the independent regulator for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacy premises in Great Britain.

We welcome individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds. We are particularly seeking those individuals with experience of the wider world of commerce or with knowledge and understanding of education and training for pharmacy professionals.

Candidates should bring a fresh perspective to the Council, be able to demonstrate their ability to see the bigger picture as well as high levels of probity, integrity, objectivity and fairness and be able to hold others to account in a constructive and open manner. This role is open to applicants from either a Lay or Registrant background . At least one of the appointees (lay or registrant) must live or work wholly or mainly in Scotland.

The Chair will provide effective leadership for the Council in its duties and to lead the Council in setting the GPhC’s strategic direction.

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is responsible for regulating the UK private security industry. Particular focus is at present on regulation and licensing within the industry coupled with robust compliance. To support the implementation of a major change and implementation programme within the SIA, we have reviewed our senior management structure and are seeking to fill a number of business critical new roles.

The Deputy Director, Operations is a member of the management team with responsibility and accountability for the leadership and management of the operational service delivery strategy. In this substantial role, you will balance the demands and needs of customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure the SIA delivers a service that is both efficient and effective. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll work across the SIA and beyond, with licensed businesses and Approved Contractor Scheme companies, industry bodies and representatives, suppliers and information partners, including the Criminal Records Bureau, UK Border Agency and HM Revenue and Customs.

This is an influential role working across aspects of customer contact, customer compliance and licence processing to ensure operational effectiveness. You'll have strong leadership and management skills combined with experience of developing and operating customer contact operations that are ‘business to business' focused, and of optimising end-to-end processes to enhance their effectiveness. Experience of managing complex operational delivery in a relevant setting will be essential. The way we make licensing decisions has a significant impact on our reputation and you will have a proven ability to manage risk through effective use of intelligence and wider information sources.
