As the only single specialty learning disability NHS Foundation Trust, Calderstones Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a unique organisation. We provide a specialist service to those with a learning disability and/or other developmental disorders, mental health problems, challenging behaviours and offending behaviour including in-patient medium and low secure services, and a community based service which gives 24 hour, 7 days a week supported living to people in their own home.

We are an entrepreneurial organisation too. We have recently established Future Directions CIC, a social enterprise to deliver community services which has already won contracts in a highly competitive marketplace and has ambitious plans for future growth in the North West and beyond. Through our business services division we also provide outsourced services to other NHS organisations across the whole of England.

With our current Chief Executive retiring soon we are seeking an experienced NHS leader to develop and implement a longer term strategy that meets the evolving needs of our service users and their carers in an era of changing commissioning arrangements and financial constraint. Reporting to our newly appointed Chairman Rupert Nichols, you will bring significant leadership experience from a like minded organisation. You will need courage to drive change, the intellectual capacity to focus on both strategy and operations, and the ability to develop strong external relationships.

We are looking for two outstanding, highly motivated individuals to join our Board to drive forward the Trust's strategic development and performance, helping us achieve our aim of delivering high quality, safe patient care and - above all - placing patients at the heart of all we do. The ﬁrst Non-Executive Director should possess senior clinical experience either in an NHS or independent sector setting. The second Non-Executive Director should have signiﬁcant experience in business transformation or change management gained in either private or public sectors. For both roles we are seeking individuals with signiﬁcant board or senior management experience gained in organisations of similar size and complexity.

Both Non-Executive Directors will need to demonstrate:

a genuine interest in the local and national health agenda and commitment to NHS and public sector values
an ability to think strategically, challenge constructively and relate to individuals at all levels
political astuteness and a commitment to the local community
