Rachel Hannan

Lead Partner

Rachel is a founding Director of GatenbySanderson, and has over 10 years of experience in senior search and selection across the public and private sectors.

A generalist with a broad portfolio of clients, over the last seven years Rachel has successfully appointed well over 60 senior positions in local government alone, including chief executives, directors and heads of service across the whole range of functions.

With her track record in search techniques and executive resourcing across the public and private sectors, Rachel previously led our research function before taking a lead on Children’s Services work for the organisation. She has also been involved in major restructuring work in local government, including work for Liverpool and North East Lincolnshire, and now heads up GatenbySanderson’s northern Finding Talent practice.

Rachel has also worked with a number of Fire and Rescue Services, appointing chief executives and entire top teams. Outside of local government and her private sector experience, Rachel has worked in regeneration (including with economic development partnerships) and also across the health and the voluntary sectors.
