Mark has national lead responsibility for central government and health in GatenbySanderson and has a reputation for recruiting to some of the highest profile roles in the public sector. He has over 20 years experience as a headhunter, specialising in finding Chairs, Chief Executives and Directors for a wide range of organisations and advising on over 25 public sector start-ups. He has recruited the Chair and Chief Executive of the Audit Commission, the Chief Executive of the UK Borders Agency, Permanent Secretaries and Directors-General across Whitehall and Chairs, Chief Executives and boards for a large number of NHS trusts.

Mark also leads the GatenbySanderson board practice and has a wealth of experience in advising public sector boards on good governance issues, co-authoring 3 pieces of research on start-up, board effectiveness and diversity.
