A proposed free school in Breckland, Suffolk, has been approved by the secretary of state for education.
Michael Gove approved the plans which will create a school that will "raise educational aspirations and academic attainment", according to supporters.
Swedish firm IES UK will construct the centre after winning a £21 million contract and plans to rename the school IES Breckland for the next ten years. Once completed, 300 pupils will enrol at the institution.
It highlights the achievement of the SABRES Educational Trust which has campaigned for the introduction of a free school for a number of years. Centres such as these are funded by the government and are set up in response to local residents' input in order to improve education for youngsters in the community.
Gordon Warnes, chairman of SABRES, said: "We believe they (IES) will deliver our vision of an all-inclusive community school with enthusiasm, dynamism and passion for the task in hand."
