A Strong Performance in the First Six Months

GatenbySanderson, one of the UK’s leading executive search and selection consultancies, have delivered strong financial results in the first six months of 2008. The company, with offices in Leeds, Birmingham and London, have recorded a rise in sales from £4.9 million in 2007 to £9.5 million this year. 

 GatenbySanderson specialises in recruitment into the public sector and has separate divisions specialising Executive Research, Digital resourcing, Interim Leadership and Assessment and Development. In the last year GatenbySanderson have made a significant investment into its Interim Leadership division as well as establishing a Central Government team; the latter making a significant impact on the London arm of the business. The company has also continued to focus on new product development, particularly within Assessment and Development and the online offering, Digital Resourcing, which has given them a distinct competitive advantage. It has also reduced reliance on the Executive Search area of the business, which nonetheless has continued to thrive. Graham Goodwin, Managing Partner of GatenbySanderson, said, “We are delighted with this interim set of results. We recognise that the recruitment market is very tight across all sectors and that clients are looking for added value and efficiencies. We have responded to this by continuing to focus on quality, recruiting the best people within our market place and constantly striving to improve processes and efficiencies elsewhere. Already this year, we are particularly proud to have been appointed to oversee the search and selection process for the appointment of eight local authority Chief Executive positions, four of these being to newly created Unitary Authorities in England.”  Graham continued, “We anticipated tougher market conditions and have managed costs appropriately, investing in those areas where we could see a positive return.
