Head of Finance and Resources (Children's Services Directorate)

Our Children's Services Directorate already have a well established Change Programme which is committed to making a positive difference to the lives of all our children and young people in Worcestershire. The current post holder has played a key role in our progress to date. With this experience she has been able to secure a promotion to a new opportunity, and we are now keen to recruit a replacement who can help us continue that journey and take us further.

We are seeking a CCAB qualified (or equivalent) and highly talented individual to provide strategic financial and operational leadership within the Children's Services and Resources Directorates. In this senior and influential role you will be an advocate for change, providing support and challenge to the transformation of Children's Services and Resources within the reducing envelope of funding.

You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of creating and delivering improvements at strategic financial and operational level within a finance and service environment. As well as having significant experience of leading on budget preparation, expenditure monitoring and closure of accounts for a large organisation, you will have supported large change projects, including the provision of rigorous financial evaluation. You will be skilled in leading and motivating teams through rapid change and transformation to achieve improved outcomes. Possessing a strong commercial awareness and business focus, you will be able to evidence success in attracting and securing external funding.
