What is RSS?

This RSS feed icon is the RSS Feed icon. RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’ and is a simple and effective way of keeping updated automatically on the latest news and job vacancies from GatenbySanderson. So now, rather than having to visit the site to be sure you are not missing anything, this can also be done for you.

How to receive RSS feeds

In order to receive RSS feeds you must first download a piece of software called a news reader.

There is a range of news readers available, some of which are accessed using a web browser and some of which are downloadable applications. The key difference between these is in the freedom and flexibility they allow. If you are always going to using the same computer to access your feeds then a downloadable application is ideal, but a software version allows you to view your feed subscriptions from any computer.

Once you have a news reader you can then add feeds to it. Across this site you’ll see that we offer a whole range of feeds, most noticeably across our permanent and interim vacancies. In fact, anywhere where you see the orange RSS icon RSS feed icon , there is a feed available.

If you click on the RSS icon RSS feed icon you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, either by dragging the URL of the feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting it into a new feed in your news reader.

Choosing a news reader

There is a range of different news readers available and new versions are appearing all the time. Different news readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.
